During a recession, times are hard and even the rich know it. Money in particular becomes notoriously hard to come by in the amounts one has been used to.
Festive seasons are no exceptions – as many Nigerians who experienced the just concluded Christmas and New Year celebrations will attest.
The mood was more sober than merry, or joyful. That tends to happen when money is lacking.
