It has always been a usual habit in Nigeria, Lagos especially, where, you purchase landed properties, and, Omo-Onile (aka Customary Land Owners) wages a great war against your hard earned investment.
They suddenly, appear from nowhere, requesting for all sorts of unreasonable fees, such as foundation fees, roofing fees, etc.
This habit has become a cankerworm in the way the so-called customary owners deal with clients, and as a result, repels most intending buyers, to keep away from them, and rather, purchase from reputable real estate consultant, that must have taken away the burden, thus, rendering a stress free service to them.
It’s a very rampant practice, prevailing in the society today, commonly known as the Omo-Onile Wahala.
Majority of investors have had series of experiences and stories to divulge. And, on several occasions, I tell my clients, not to be afraid, if the right approach is made, and the right knowledge is acquired.
